PLENARY MEETING OF THE SECOND SESSION OF THE VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE OF THE SIXTH CONVOCATION WAS HELD ON TUESDAY, 1 APRIL

 

At the beginning of the session the representatives of the Deputy Factions presented their reports, announcements, and appeals, and introduced their motions. 

 

Olexandr Yefremov, Chairman of the Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure, Ethics and Support to Work of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reported on the Draft Resolution that introduces amendments to the schedule of the Second Session. Thus, a morning plenary meeting is to be held on 1 April, the Committees and Factions are to work on 2-4 April, and plenary sessions are to be held from 7 till 11 April.

 

The Verkhovna Rada passed the Resolution by 228 votes.

 

Then the People´s Deputies considered a Draft Resolution on holding parliamentary hearings on the subject "On Conditions, Actions and Prospects of Overcoming Chornobyl Disaster Aftermath".

 

However, the Resolution was rejected.

 

Then the People´s Deputies scrutinized the following Draft Resolutions: "On Dismissal of Eduard Prutnik from the Post of Chairman of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine" and "On Dismissal of Oleksiy Kostuyev from the Post of Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine".

 

The People´s Deputies rejected both Draft Resolutions.

 

Then the People´s Deputies considered several Draft Resolutions on termination of authorities of the People´s Deputies. However, the People´s Deputies failed to uphold the said Resolutions.

 

Then the morning plenary meeting was closed.
