The Committee on the Matters of Pensioners, Veterans and the Disabled recommends that the Parliament rejects the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On the Status of War Veterans and Safeguards of their Social Security) (re Students of Trade Schools of 1925- 1927 Years of Birth)

18 March 2008, 14:17

The Bill (Reg. No.1391) grants the status of a fighting participant to the students of trade schools of 1925- 1927 Years of birth who "were evacuated from the territory of Ukraine in Year 1941 in order to work at the soviet defence industry enterprises".

The Committee members deem unreasonable to extend the range of prospective benefit recipients. However, they call for qualitative rendering of available benefits and for the improvement of current pension provision system.

The status of a fighting participant should be granted due to person´s participation in fighting activities aimed at defence of Motherland.
