The Law supplements the Family Code of Ukraine with a regulation, pursuant to which, "fatherhood of a child can be recognized due to a court´s decision, in case the state body of civil state acts registration refuses to recognize a father of a child". An adoptive parent can be a legally capable person of not less than 21 years of age, unless an adoptive parent is a child´s relative.
A relevant Bill (Reg. No.0864) was registered in The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
