Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, has taken part in the New Year's meeting with Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and representatives of over 50 diplomatic establishments working in Ukraine.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted that on the eve of the new 2017, in compliance with the tradition Ukraine is summarizing all the events of the previous year.
Parubiy thanked everyone for close cooperation with the Ukrainian Parliament and support for Ukraine.
Parubiy also stressed that despite the Russian aggression and corruption, Ukraine continues reforms.
In particular, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada pointed out the reform of local self-governance, decentralization, introduction of e-declaration for high-ranking officials, constitutional amendments to the judicial reform and the electric energy market reform. "I believe that Ukraine will receive an opportunity of visa-free travels to the European Union as Ukraine has fulfilled all its obligations to Brussels," Parubiy said.
At the same time, Andriy Parubiy expressed his concern over increasing influence of the Russian Federation on many states of Europe and all over the world.
Parubiy said that Ukraine's image abroad directly depends on representatives of the diplomatic corps.
He also thanked all the allies for military, technical, financial and diplomatic support for Ukraine.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada called for further sanctions against Russia.
He also expressed confidence that the parliamentary coalition and the Ukrainian Parliament will further show their efficiency in implementation of reforms.
The participants in the meeting also were Deputy Verkhovna Rada Chair Iryna Heraschenko, members of the Ukrainian Parliament, Pravytsia children's choir, etc.
