The Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations recommends that the Parliament adopts as a Basis the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On State Support of Agriculture of Ukraine" (re Improvement of Mechanisms for State Price Regulation of Agricultural Markets, Insurance of Agricultural Production Risks, and Realization of Actions aimed at Renewal of Cattle Breeding and Implementation of Rural Social Programs)

The Bill (Reg. No.2375) improves mechanisms of State support of Ukrainian agriculture, especially, agrarian interventions and granting of State budget loans.

 

The Bill extends the list of State price regulation objects; which is of great importance for the agriculture of Ukraine. The said objects constitute food safety of our country. The Bill fully complies with the regulations of the WTO, and takes into account the motions of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice and the Committee on Industrial and Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship.

 

However, the People´s Deputies stated that the Bill fails to settle a number of issues in the agricultural sector.

 

The Committee members also believe that the Government should devote more attention to the settlement of social issues in the rural area.

 

The Committee recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill as a basis.
