The Committee members listened to the report of Volodymyr Sosnycky, First Depuity Head of the State Concern "Ukrspirt", and Yuriy Melnyk, Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.
The reporters stated that spirit branch in the structure of the State Concern "Ukrspirt", subordinate to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, amalgamates 76 state alcohol factories that supply 95 of ethyl alcohol production in Ukraine, 4 distilleries, 4 companies, juice and fruits factory, and a factory of manufactured goods.
The Committee members regard current situation in the spirit branch as a crisis. The State enterprises exploit productive capacities only for 40 per cent.
Moreover, equipment and production technologies of the most enterprises are obsolete, which excludes their secure and efficient operation.
The Committee takes into account importance of development of the spirit branch, and deems necessary to take urgent measures aimed at its reforming. Therefore, the Committee recommends that the Parliament considers the set of Bills on reforming of the spirit branch, submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and other subjects of legislative initiative.
