The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill on Amendments to several Legislative Acts of Ukraine (re Enhancement of Regulation of Relations in the field of Traffic Safety Provision) at the Second Reading and in its Entirety

The Bill suggests a raise in the rate of fines for violating the traffic regulations. Thus, a fine for an infringement will average 85 100 Hryvnias. The Bill considerably enhances liability for a gross violation of traffic regulations. Thus, a fine for passage at the warning signal of the traffic lights will make up 170-204 Hryvnias, and a fine for driving in a state of intoxication 1360-2550 Hryvnias.

 

Pursuant to the Bill, the policemen can impound a driving license before the court´s decision in cases, when the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements envisages deprivation of right to drive a transport vehicle

 

The Bill also envisages installation and use of appliances for automatic photo- and videofixation of road rules violations.

 

The People´s Deputies also upheld amendments to the current legislation that envisage liability of the State Automobile Inspection employees for illegal issue of technical inspection certificates.
