The Bill (Reg. No.1132) is aimed at provision of patients´ rights, especially the right to life, the right to choose a physician, the right to obtain medical information, quality and safe medical care and examination, preservation of mental and physical integrity, performance of religious rites at the medical establishments, etc. The Bill also defines basic principles, terms and guarantees for realization of the said rights.
The Committee members upheld the Bill, though they expressed a number of remarks.
As the issue concerning protection of patients´ rights is urgent, the Committee recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill as a basis, and further elaborates it, taking into account introduced remarks and motions.
