The Committee passed the said Resolution, having inspected the state of implementation of guidelines carried out at the parliamentary hearings "Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Ukraine: Issues of Legislative Support and Law Enforcement", and "National Innovation System of Ukraine: Issue of Formation and Implementation", and the Committee hearings "Innovation Activity in Ukraine: Issues and Ways of their Settlement".
The Committee resolved to extend the period of control over realization of the actions envisaged by the guidelines of parliamentary and Committee hearings to 1 November 2008, as most of the actions have not been implemented yet.
The Committee members stated that negative phenomena in the fields of innovation activity, legal and intellectual property protection require urgent actions on the part of high-ranking political leaders of the State and executive bodies at all levels.
The Committee recommends that the Cabinet of Ministers considers the issue concerning establishment of a single central executive body in charge of scientific and technical, and innovation activity.
