Speaker of Ukrainian Parliament congratulates Ukrainian Paralympic team on triumph at XV Paralympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro

Opening the Thursday plenary meeting, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, congratulated the Ukrainian National Paralympic Team on its triumph at XV Paralympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.

He announced that Ukrainian sportsmen were awarded 117 times, in particular, they received 41 gold, 37 silver and 39 bronze medals. He said that our sportsmen set 22 world records and 32 Paralympic records.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also noted that a relevant Committee has tabled several important documents in the Ukrainian Parliament. In particular, the bills touch the electric energy market and are important for the Ukraine-EU cooperation.
