During his briefing on Monday, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, noted that this Thursday, the parliamentarians are likely to appoint seven new chairs of parliamentary committees not headed so far.

He recalled that the personnel matters do not require preliminary putting on the parliamentary agenda. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada added that according to the data provided by the Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a compromise between deputy factions as to the candidacies for the posts of committee heads has already been found.

Andriy Parubiy also noted that the discussions as to the appointment of new members of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine and the Central Election Commission (CEC) are still underway. He believes that there could be a strange situation when previous CEC members were withdrawn and new ones were not yet appointed. "I expect an agreed bill [on the issue]," Andriy Parubiy said.
