In Warsaw (the Republic of Poland), Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, told the press that he had called for drafting a joint statement on behalf of the Parliaments of Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania to give an assessment to the tragic events that took place on this land as a result of the activity of the imperialist regimes over the previous century.

"The war entailed tragic deaths among the Poles, Ukrainians and the Lithuanians. It's beyond any doubt that the same aggressor is now attacking on and holding its aggression against Ukraine today. I am sure if we get back to the tradition to find and determine the source of all threats for our states, Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine will become stronger and more powerful, will be able to overcome misunderstandings and disagreements in different historical issues," he said.

Andriy Parubiy emphasized that the heads of the three parliaments had agreed to draft such a joint statement before September 17.
