On Friday, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii told the Rada TV Channel that a key issue for Ukraine in its foreign policy is the prolongation of the sanctions against the Russian Federation by the French Republic. "It is important not only from the economic point of view, but also psychologically," he said. He added that the whole free world must confirm its support for Ukraine, condemn the aggression of the Russian Federation and Russian President Vladimir Putin's Administration.

Andrii Parubii is deeply convinced that "the boys currently defending the east of Ukraine, as well as the boys, who took part in the Maidan events, do protect not only Ukraine's interests." He said: "They protect interests and values of the whole free world and die every day for the sake of whole free world."

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted that this was the reason to address the Government of the French Republic requesting not to smoothen the sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Andrii Parubii reminded that hundreds of Ukrainian volunteers joined the resistance movement of France when the occupation troops of the Hitlerite Germany entered France.

According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, today, Ukraine is in the same situation France was facing in the middle of the XX century.
