Opening the Thursday plenary meeting, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii said: "It's going to be an extremely rough and important day."
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said that the people's deputies had to consider a large number of important social draft laws touching: the increase of minimum and living wages; increase of subsidies to the Pension Fund aimed at paying pensions, and the increase of assistance to financially disadvantaged families with children. Besides, he said that the agenda envisioned the issue of exempting pensions from taxes.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada also said that a total of six draft laws touching the process of decommunization were also put on the Thursday plenary meeting agenda. Parubii reminded that "the process had been protracted," as the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine envisioned to complete it before February 18, 2016. He specified that "these are the draft laws to rename ten districts, 17 cities, 247 small towns and villages on temporarily occupied territories, as well as the towns located in Crimea.
Parubii noted: "These draft laws have been agreed with local communities."
