Andrii Parubii: Ukrainian Parliament facing serious challenges that require joint action from Ukrainian parliamentarians

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is currently facing serious challenges that require joint action from the Ukrainian parliamentarians, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii said this opening the Tuesday meeting of the Conciliatory Council of the heads of the parliamentary factions and committees.

"We will have two plenary weeks to tackle serious challenges we are currently facing," he noted.

According to the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, "both experts and the society demand that we solve the issue of the prosecutor's office."

He also said that some draft amendments to the Verkhovna Rada Regulations also required consideration. Andrii Parubii called on the heads of parliamentary factions and people's deputies to as soon as possible provide their proposals to let the Parliament register this draft law to make work of the Ukrainian Parliament more effective and fruitful.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada noted the importance of putting a number of governmental draft laws on the agenda. He said that these draft laws would have to be considered by the Verkhovna Rada Committees and then transferred to the session hall of the Ukrainian Parliament.

At the beginning of the Conciliatory Council meeting, the Chairperson of the Ukrainian Parliament thanked law enforcement officers for taking control over the security situation during the May holidays.
