Verkhovna Rada Chairperson Parubii takes part in "First Minute for Peace" event

On May 8, 2016, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii took part in the First Minute for Peace event at the Museum of Historical Treasures of Ukraine on the occasion of Remembrance and Reconciliation Day.

The event started at 22:45 (Kyiv time), which was the exact moment of signature of the German Instrument of Surrender, which put an end to World War II in Europe.

President Petro Poroshenko delivered his speech in front of the WWII veterans and members of the Ukrainian Government. Besides, at the end of his speech the President announced a symbolic Minute For Peace.

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii talked to the WWII veterans / soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and soldiers of the Red Army, as well as to the participants in the anti-terrorist operation in Donbas.
