"Thus, from the moment of the Chornobyl catastrophe, 2015 was the first year when the government of Yatsenyuk provided no fringe benefits to citizens working in the exclusion zone," said the people’s deputy. “I am talking about ordinary people ensuring functioning of the exclusion zone and falling under radiation exposure: dosimetry specialists, mechanics, electricians, welders, drivers, masters and others, who actually receive the lowest salaries."

"Moreover, this fixed benefit of UAH 1,827 per month, which we want to restore, will be paid only to those categories of employees, who work in the exclusion zone not less than 36 hours per week," Mykola Tomenko said.

"I am glad that the majority of the people’s deputies supported the law, and social justice was restored. Especially in the year when we are obliged not only bring the tragedy back to memory, but also to honor the people who either participated in the liquidation of the catastrophe consequences or work today to complete the construction of the Shelter facility and protect Ukraine and the world from possible repetition of the tragedy," M. Tomenko summarized.
