Ukraine needs open, public privatization of state-run enterprises to restore national economy.

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman has told this to the Rada TV channel.

The process of privatization has to be absolutely public and open, and should undergo under the control of authoritative international organizations and anticorruption bodies, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said.

Groysman noted that the critics of public privatization are unlikely to be interested in it, as they themselves have certain part of involvement in the state-run enterprises.

He also said that state-run enterprises do not only continue giving birth to certain corrupt actions, but also need considerable funding from the state budget for their maintenance. Groysman said that the public privatization of state-run enterprises will facilitate the restoration of national economy.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada also pointed to successful experience of Poland and the Czech Republic in holding public privatization and decentralization of power.

"Over the last 24 years of our independence we have not done either of these," Groysman said. He added that further selling of hundreds of enterprises for nothing must be stopped.
