Ukraine should put an end to the violations by monopolies in the field of housing-public utility services.
Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman said this at the session hall during the consideration of the Law of Ukraine "On housing-public utility services" on Wednesday.
"I believe it's high time to settle issue of these monopolies," he said.
He also said that citizens often complain they have to pay unfounded amounts of money for getting connected to general power lines or other networks.
Groysman noted he would urge the establishment of a workgroup of specialists to elaborate a solution to this problem.
"We are getting to know the situation at the local level, we are gathering the information and systematize it. We will establish a workgroup of specialists/representatives of different parliamentary factions and will tackle the situation," he said.
At that, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada admitted an opportunity to address the Antimonopoly Committee to consider the issue.
