Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman says that the priorities of work of the Ukrainian Parliament in 2016 will have to be the legislative support of the economic growth and European integration.
"Our task is to ensure legislative support of stable economic growth in 2016. Thus, transparent, stimulating tax system is very important for us and I call on everybody to unite around the elaboration of the decision to be supported by the majority of our colleagues," Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman said opening the Wednesday plenary meeting.
Groysman also noted that yesterday, the issue of reformation of the tax system was the topic of discussion at the meeting of the National Reforms Council. "There are all grounds to speak about finding a well-balanced decision allowing to create modern tax system and ensure timely adoption of the state budget," he said.
The major task of the Ukrainian Parliament for the next year was called full European integration. "Ukraine has to become a modern democratic European state," Groysman said. At that he noted that the speech delivered by Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden showed that "the whole world, all our partners are expecting quality decisions, quality changes from us. They are not only expecting them, but also are ready to assist."
Groysman also informed that yesterday, Ukraine received "a positive signal" from the International Monetary Fund touching further cooperation with that respected financial institution.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada highly appreciated the results of the Parliament's work on Tuesday. He said that the decisions to annul 22 licenses in the agricultural sector, which were "the basis for corruption" — "is a very good progress and we have to go further."
