Verkhovna Rada Chairperson Volodymyr Groysman hoping constitutional decentralization reform will be successful

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman hopes that the constitutional reform touching the decentralization will be successful.

Taking the floor before the students representing 34 higher education establishments of Kharkiv on Monday, Groysman said that in absence of systemic changes in the system of government, in absence of clear division of powers and restoration of trust in state institutions, neither success or further development of the state would possible, inter alia in the sector of science and education.

"We are a step from evolutionary changes in these fields. I believe we will manage to build a successful European state," Groysman said. The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada also expressed hope that the political elite "will have enough political will to take important decisions." "The decentralization reform will make Ukraine strong. It contains no risks," he underlined.

Groysman presented certain details of the key aspects of the decentralization reform. He also called on the youth to take an active part in the political life of the country and influence on the local governments. "The youth is our present and the future. You should not keep aloof from what is going on," the Chairperson of the Ukrainian Parliament said.

Groysman presented awards of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to representatives of academic staff of higher education establishments of the city of Kharkiv for their considerable contribution to the realization of state policy in the field of education and their high professionalism. Addressing the participants in the event, Groysman stated that education and science were the pledge of further successful development of our state.
