The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine requires comprehensive reformation, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman told the press in the city of Khmelnytskyi on Friday.

"The Ukrainian Parliament must release high-quality laws, be open, public, and that will raise the efficiency of work of the people's deputies," Groysman said. At that he noted that modernization of the Parliament "does not mean only its technical reequipment." According to Groysman, that "also touches the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat, which has to become and effective service able to be accessible for the citizens and to ensure effective work of the people's deputies." According to him, in cooperation with the Parliament's European partners, it was planned to create an e-Parliament of the European level.

Groysman also says that in absence of technical modernization of the Parliament for over the last 20 years, organizational assistance to legislative procedures is today considerably complicated, in particular, the problem is the preservation of considerable amount of data. Thus, technical reequipment, in words of the Ukrainian Parliament Chairperson, is very important to raise the efficiency of the lawmaking and openness of the Parliament. The Chairperson of the Ukrainian Parliament also said that all procurements of respective equipment have been provided in compliance with the legislation, publicly, and "all the data — every cent has been covered by mass media organizations."

Groysman noted that the Verkhovna Rada modernization would allow creating "brand new, public and accessible" Parliament.
