Implementation of important decentralization reform at the constitutional level would facilitate building of proper responsible system of government in Ukraine and development of initiative of its citizens.
Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman said this at the meeting with President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Ilkka Kanerva on Wednesday.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada also informed about the progress in the constitutional process. He also stated that the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) has appreciated respective amendments that envision the establishment of real self-governing based on the society interests and principles of subsidiarity and financial capacity.
Groysman said that such an approach to the development of the government system "is exactly in line with our traditions. It ensures functioning of comprehensive local self-government system."
