A Bill concerning this has been introduced to The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by the People´s Deputy O. Feldman.

According to this Bill (Reg. No.1265), 'The Religious Documents, part of The National Archive Fund,  or those in ownership of  State or  the local communities), can, by the  Archive Institutions, where these items appear on the balance sheets, be returned to the  relevant religious organisations for their use or returned into their ownership, both without charge, according to the appropriate Resolutions by the state administrations of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regional, Kyiv city and Sevastopol city, under the procedure as laid down in the Law 'On Liberty of Conscience and Religious Organisations'.

In the Author´s opinion, the passing of this Bill will contribute to the fulfilment of obligations undertaken by Ukraine at its entrance to the Council of Europe
