In particular, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada and Head of the Constitutional Commission Volodymyr Groysman conducted a Constitutional Commission's meeting. The meeting participants paid particular attention to the necessity to elaborate and adopt proposals that would completely correspond to demands of the society and be a solution facilitating the protection of human rights, making judicial system more efficient, and professional. The Constitutional Commission supported the draft laws on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine touching justice and decided to send it for consideration of the President of Ukraine.
Besides, a workgroup conducted a meeting to discuss draft laws on improvement of legislation in order to fulfill the EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan for Ukraine.
Another meeting was dedicated to holding of the Economy Development and Deregulation Day on November 10. During the meeting, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry offered to shape the agenda of 15 draft laws divided into five big sections: anti-monopoly legislation; attraction of investments; state property management; deregulation; reduction of number of licenses.
There also was a presentation and discussion of the draft law "On amendments to Tax Code of Ukraine as to tax liberalization." Participants of the event noted that the offered draft tax reform symbolically named "Tax reform 2016. Fiscal liberalization" met the demands of the civilized world and Ukrainian society for resolute steps in fighting corruption in the tax sector.
Besides, Verkhovna Rada Committees held their meetings on October 26-30.
In particular, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations considered the draft laws required for the EU's liberalization of the visa regime for Ukraine; the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy, Employment and Pension Provision recommended that the Ukrainian Parliament adopt the draft law on external labor migration on the whole as the draft law is also required for the liberalization of the visa regime with the EU. The same Committee also approved the Recommendations of the roundtable touching the status of observance of labor guarantees and social protection of ATO participants and their family members; the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs, Verkhovna Rada Committee on European Integration and the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense had a joint meeting dedicated to foreign economic activity of Ukraine in the context of proper protection of national interests in defense and security sectors.
Chairpersons of several parliamentary committees had meetings with representatives of international parliamentary organizations.
In particular, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government Serhii Vlasenko had a meeting with Anne Boyle, the director for Europe and Eurasia at Chemonics International; leadership of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs had a meeting with OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine Vaidotas Verba; Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy, Nature Resources Utilization and Elimination of the Consequences of Chornobyl Catastrophe Mykola Tomenko had a meeting with director of the nuclear safety department of EBRD Vince Novak and representative of Chernobyl Shelter Fund and Nuclear Safety Account in Ukraine Alexander Slavis; Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Science and Education Liliya Hrynevych had a meeting with a delegation of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in the frames of the "Integrity Study of Education System in Ukraine" project.
People's deputies also took part in different roundtables.
Members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Culture and Spirituality discussed the status of freedom of conscience and state-church relations in Ukraine; the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Family, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism dedicated its roundtable to state youth policy in Ukraine; the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship discussed the topic of business-clusters.
