The legislative act establishes legal principles of organization and activity of the National Police of Ukraine, the status of the policemen, as well as the order of service in the National Police.
According to the document, the activity of the National Police is directed and coordinated by the Government through the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Head of the National Police will be appointed to and dismissed from the office by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine under respective recommendation of Prime Minister of Ukraine according to the relevant proposal of the Interior Affairs Minister.
The first deputy and deputy head of the National Police will be appointed to and dismissed from the office by Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on the proposal of Head of the National Police.
The National Police will comprise the following departments: criminal police, patrol police, security police, special police and task force police.
