Parubii: international parliamentary organizations can play significant role in joint resistance to Russian aggression

International parliamentary organizations, first of all the European ones, can play a remarkable role of the joint resistance to the Russian aggression aimed at ruining our joint values and civilized rules, First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii said addressing the participants of the parliamentary meeting of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly entitled "Security in Europe: Current Situation and Lessons for Politicians" on Friday.

Parubii stated that the events of the last 1.5 years have become "an unprecedented challenge for the whole global security system and the international law."

Parubii thanked the world community for condemnation of the military aggression by Russia and for the introduced sanctions. At the same time, he called on the world to further take urgent and decisive measures to stop Russia's aggression.

According to Parubii, the world community will have to immediately introduce new sanctions should Russia continue violating the international law and obligations. He said that at present Ukraine needs more resolute support in particular, in provision of Ukraine with defense weapons.
