The armed conflict in the east of Ukraine is the struggle for the European values. Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this at a briefing after the meeting with Marshal of the Sejm of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski in Warsaw (Poland).

The Head of the Verkhovna Rada said Ukraine is doing its best to “stand tall and win.”

Groysman thanked Poland for its support to Ukraine.

He also said Ukraine is doing its best to fulfill the Minsk agreements: cooperating with the OSCE, observing ceasefire regime, keeping its heavy military hardware at the proper distance from the confrontation line. He said that the Verkhovna Rada had adopted a number of legislative acts to meet the provisions of the Minsk agreements.

In turn, Marshal of the Sejm of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski noted that Ukraine today “is the object of aggression.”

He also noted that Groysman and he had discussed reforms in Ukraine, which was the major focus of the talks.

Groysman informed that at the end of the meeting with Sikorski they agreed a joint statement, in which the parties expressed their consolidated position on many issues.

The Head of the Verkhovna Rada called for deepening of the interparliamentary Ukrainian-Polish cooperation.
