O.Syroid: Ukraine is grateful to the Great Britain for consistent support of territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country

Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oksana Syroid claimed this during the meeting with the parliamentary delegation of British group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union on Thursday.
O.Syroid stressed that visit of the British delegation is especially important today since Ukraine requires support of the entire world.
On behalf of the Ukrainian Parliament, Deputy Chairperson of the
Verkhovna Rada expressed gratitude to the Great
Britain for supporting Ukraine
on the international arena, especially in the international parliamentary
institutions, and for consistently supporting sanctions against the Russian Federation.
O.Syroid thanked also for providing British humanitarian and technical assistance to Ukraine; for providing treatment to our military men; and for the readiness to participate in providing financial assistance to Ukraine, necessary to stabilize the national economy.
The Parties discussed the issue of European integration of our country. O.Syroid informed that all branches of power in Ukraine work on implementation of Euro-integrational plans. In this context, she informed that the Parliament adopted the laws aimed to cope with corruption, secure fair trial and begin the constitutional reform.
It also went about legislative support for holding decentralization and local elections.
The Parties stressed the importance of exchanging experience of developing parliamentarism. Particularly, O.Syroid expressed interest in the experience of Parliament of the Great Britain in institutional development of higher legislative body and in deepening parliamentary control over the activity of the Government.
In their turn, members of the delegation expressed readiness to exchange the respective experience of parliamentary work with the Verkhovna Rada.
