The Committee considered also the issue of inappropriate use of state funds and corrupt practice on the part of former leadership of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Deputy Chairperson of the Committee Viktor Chumak noted that “there are problematic issues within the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine: it is understandable that border inspection posts are quite corruptive zones, though, sometimes citizens themselves urge to corrupt practice.”
V.Chumak stressed that lately there have been some positive changes taking place in the State Border Guard Service: the structure became more open for control by NGOs, governmental institutions and the people’s deputies.
First Deputy Chairperson of State Border Guard Service Vasyl Servatiuk stressed the necessity of cooperation with the Committee in the spheres like lustration, corruption counteraction and reforming the law-enforcement structures.
Following the results of consideration, the decision was taken to continue exercising parliamentary control over the activity of State Border Guard Service and its officials.
