Chairperson of the Committee Hanna Hopko stressed the importance of further deepening of priority directions of Ukrainian-Romanian bilateral relations, and expressed readiness of the Ukrainian Party for active cooperation at the parliamentary level.
Hanna Hopko informed that the Committee actively works on the establishment of a deputy group in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on inter-parliamentary liaison with Romania. She said, in particular, that more than 20 MPs, representatives of all political parties in the Ukrainian Parliament, submitted applications to join the abovementioned deputy union.
On his part, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine noted that restoration of political and diplomatic dialogue on the bilateral basis is an area of priority for his country.
It also went about supporting Ukraine’s European perspective; the principle of good neighborly relations; aspiration to restore bilateral political dialogue at the parliamentary level; as well as exchanging official delegations at the level of respective deputy groups on inter-parliamentary liaison and parliamentary committees.
