Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman discussed reforms in Ukraine with former Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Leszek Balcerowicz

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman discussed reforms in Ukraine with former Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Leszek Balcerowicz. 

Leszek Balcerowicz claimed that our country "has a lot of supporters in the West and, primarily, in Poland". 

At the meeting, the Parties unanimously agreed on the need to quickly implement reforms in Ukraine. L.Balcerowicz stressed that military aggression against Ukraine complicates implementation of reforms, but it should not become a reason for delaying their implementation. 

In his words, the reform of the state governance system is one of the most important.

In his turn, Volodymyr Groysman also emphasized the importance of implementing reforms on government decentralization. "The system of governance in Ukraine is very centralized. We need to change the system of governance of the country", stressed the Chairperson of the Parliament.  

Volodymyr Groysman stated "the road Poland went through once is very instructive". According to him, this country managed to overcome a difficult social-economic situation and build one of the most powerful economies of the European Union.

Volodymyr Groysman stressed that "Ukraine has a homework on implementing reforms", claiming that the country has the necessary political will.

He informed that during his work in the Government, he coordinated the elaboration of the Revival Plan of Ukraine for 2015-2017, and the discussion of the document involved almost 300 experts.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada informed that the Plan is now being elaborated by the National Reform Council at the President of Ukraine and the Government. Chairperson of the Parliament claimed that this document can become a basis for systematic complex reforms and a respective plan of legislative activity.
