The Committee for Informatization and Communications held an open meeting jointly with service providers of the ICT market

Communications service providers generally from more than 20 companies of the ICT market, were invited to the meeting that was held on January 22.

Chairperson of the Committee Oleksandr Danchenko voiced out current tasks of the Committee; briefed on the list of bills the Committee is working on; and proposed several legislative initiatives that will be included in the plan-schedule of Committee’s activity. 

Participants of the meeting discussed the necessity of amending the existing laws that will simplify and deregulate the process of doing business in Ukraine. In particular, Oleh Prozhyvalskyi (MTS Ukraine) mentioned the problem of allocation of land for the construction of base stations. 

It was stressed that in the course of its law-making activity, the Committee will be guided exclusively by the principles and norms outlined in the Association Agreement. 

Participants of the open meeting separately discussed the necessity of establishing a single specializing body of executive power. At present, there are 5 bodies of executive power having different branches of ICT under their jurisdiction.
