The Committee on Financial Policy and Banking recommends that the Parliament should pass a veto of the President of Ukraine over the Law “On amendments to the Law "On moratorium on recovery of property of Ukrainian citizens provided as collateral for foreign currency loans" re strengthening rights of borrowers”

The law (Reg. No. 1610) was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on December 28, 2014.

Reporting on the proposals of the President of Ukraine to this law, Chairperson of the Committee Serhii Rybalka noted: “it seems that officials who prepared this document did not even want to get outside of a problem. The remarks include no constructive suggestion,” he said.  

The Committee granted a hearing to the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee Ruslan Demchak on the key issues of the single bill on restructuring foreign currency loans.

Following the results of discussion, the Committee recommends that the Verkhovna Rada should consider the bill on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine (re the return basis of fixed deposits) (Reg. No. 1195).

Following the results of consideration, the Committee took the decision to recommit the draft law on amendments to several legislative act of Ukraine re strengthening social protection of citizens (Reg. 1386).
