On January 19 the Committee on European Integration held an extraordinary meeting with participation of the EU representatives chaired by Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski.
During the meeting, a series of issues on further steps of Ukraine after the introduction of the provisional application of the Association Agreement was discussed, particularly, on activity of the Parliamentary Committee on Association and informal Ukraine-EU friendship group. The Parties also discussed several technical issues on the procedure of implementing the Association Agreement: the need to create a translation base of acquis acts, EU's technical assistance to the Committee, external monitoring of the Agreement's implementation, improving the procedure of complying the bills with the European Union legislation both in the Parliament and at the national level involving scientific community and NGO representatives.
The Parties discussed the initiative of European Parliament deputy Petras Austrevicius (co-chairperson of the informal group in the European Parliament "Friends of European Ukraine") on dedicating one of the meetings of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs to human rights violation in Donbas, particularly, on the territories controlled by the militants.
