In 2014, 1421 requests were registered in the Single base of accounting and control over information requests of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Among them 971 were sent via the Internet, 237 via e-mail, 96 via post, 76 via special delivery, 28 via special services, 8 via fax, 3 via phone, 1 at a personal appointment, and 1 was submitted from the leadership.
According to the Information Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat, 1067 requests were fulfilled, 282 were rejected under article 22 of the Law "On access to public information", 66 requests were sent to respective information providers, and 6 requests were fulfilled under the Law "On Citizens' Appeals".
Requests concerned information about results of personal voting of people's deputies and the following laws coming into force "On Corruption Prevention", "On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau", "On amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine re determining the final beneficiaries of legal entities and public figures", and "On the bases of national anti-corruption policy in Ukraine (Anti-corruption strategy) for 2014-2017".
Apart from that, the applicants were interested in information on normative and legal documents on increasing medicine prices, using budget funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the order of executing control over fulfilling laws "On Citizens' Appeals", "On the Prosecutor's Office", the order of allocating salaries to medical workers, etc.
The most requests were processed by the Personnel Administration, Information Department, Administration of Affairs and Computer Systems Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat, as well as secretariats of the Committee on State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy, and Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
