The bill (Reg. No. 1647) was elaborated with a view to refine state monitoring over adherence to the requirements of Ukrainian legislation on matters of protection of public morals by excluding provisions on determining the status and fundamentals of activity of the National Expert Commission of Ukraine on Protection of Public Morals from the Law “On Protection of Public Morals”.

Committee members took the decision to set up a working group consisting of the people’s deputies, representatives of the Press Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, and Social Council at the Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy in order to elaborate proposals for changing the existing order of accreditation of journalists in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
