Reforming all spheres of the country should involve a wide range of experts and public representatives - meeting of Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman with George Soros

On Monday Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman met with founder of the International Renaissance Foundation George Soros.

During the meeting, the Parties discussed the necessity to consolidate efforts of all branches of power, NGOs, and experts for adopting socially important decisions and implementing reforms. The role of the National Reform Council in this process was particularly stressed.  

"The National Reform Council is a consolidating factor which can unite all participants of the process", said Volodymyr Groysman. "It is a platform for discussing important decisions". "I will apply all efforts for all branches of power to have a mutual understanding", he added.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada informed that by working in the government he was coordinating elaboration of the strategic "Country Revival Plan for 2015-2017" which he passed to the National Reform Council and which is now being finalized by the Government. "It is a significant document which has been elaborated with consideration of European experience", said the Chairperson of the Parliament. He believes this document, together with the Reform Program-2020 and the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, shall become a basis for systematic reforms in Ukraine. This Plan can become a basis for Verkhovna Rada's transition to systematic and complex work on the bills which will allow increasing their quality.    

In the context of implementing comprehensive reforms, the Chairperson of the Parliament also informed about plans on amending the Constitution of Ukraine.
