In connection with some mass media publishing messages on disappearance of norms on imposing limitations on salaries of people's deputies and Cabinet of Ministers members, the Press Service provides the following explanations.
Cancellation of a wide range of privileges and payments for separate categories of persons is stipulated in the Law of Ukraine "On amending and recognizing as void several legislative acts of Ukraine" (published in a newspaper "Holos Ukrainy" of 31.12.2014 No. 254).
With regard to introducing such norms to the text of the Law of Ukraine on the State Budget for the next year, we can state the following.
Under articles 95 and 96 of the Constitution of Ukraine, subject of regulating the law of Ukraine on the State Budget is establishing revenues and expenditures for social needs.
In 2008 the Constitutional Court of Ukraine prohibited the law on the State Budget from amending the other laws.
Therefore, absence in the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2015" the norms on restriction of salaries of top officials complies with the current legislation.
