The Committee on Public Health discussed the issue of reforming national healthcare system

Oleksandr Kvitashvili, Minister of Health of Ukraine, was in attendance at the Committee’s meeting on December 26.

Committee members were acquainted with the draft National strategy for the development of a new healthcare system in Ukraine for the period of 2015-2025 elaborated by the Strategic advisory group on matters of reforming the healthcare system in Ukraine, established at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.  

National strategy for reforming the healthcare system is a framework document that determines the content, top priority tasks and main trends for reforming the national healthcare system for the next decade.

Committee remembers took the decision to hold hearings entitled: “On the reform in the healthcare sphere of Ukraine” with the aim of broad discussion of the abovementioned programme document. It is planned to involve responsible officials of central and local bodies of executive powers, as well as scientists and representatives of medical community, patient organizations and medical union organization to participate in the hearings.
