The Committee on Family Matters, Youth Policy and Sports considered the draft law on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2015

 Committee members stressed that under Final provisions of the document, several norms of the applicable legislative acts shall be applied in the order and amount established by the Cabinet of Minister of Ukraine, proceeding form the available financial resources. Particularly, this pertains to article 26 of the Law “On Physical Culture and Sports” and articles 5 and 19 of the Law “On Childhood Protection”.

Committee members believe that application of these provisions by the Government, given the resources, “will significantly deteriorate health of the young and cause rise in juvenile delinquency.” In connection with this, the Committee suggested excluding provisions of the abovementioned articles from the Final provisions of the bill.  

The Committee suggested also increasing funding of national and patriotic upbringing of the youth by UAH 9,6 million; funding of disabled sports, as well as sports and physical training rehabilitation of the disabled - by UAH 5,6 million; funding of sports and physical training NGOs - by UAH 6 million; and funding of the work on the development of sports and physical training among employees and military men of the law-enforcement bodies - by UAH 13,5 million.

Considering the necessity of efficient use of Ukraine’s tourist potential, the Committee suggested increasing financial support for the development of tourism by UAH 1,9 million.
