The Committee on Science and Education considered the draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2015

On the December 24 meeting, the Committee discussed the draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2015 (Reg. No. 1000) and pointed out that the educational and science spheres, despite of difficult economic conditions, have always been of great priority in forming budget policy in developed countries. 

Expenditures of the state budget general fund for the Ministry of Science and Education, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and national sectoral academies of sciences are planned to be UAH 15 977,8 mln, which is less by 28% than in 2014.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine suggests approving a special order of indexation of monetary income of population within the framework of budgets of all levels which will have a negative impact on social conditions of science and education spheres workers.

Annex 10 of the draft law on the State Budget for 2015 unreasonably referred several comprehensive and out-of-school educational establishments of national importance, colleges and secondary technical schools to establishments that are financed from local budgets.

Following the results of the discussion, the Committee submitted to the Committee on Budget its specific proposals on funding science, education, and intellectual property.
