Participants of the meeting discussed key problems of the sphere and prospects of its development.
Chairperson of the Committee Serhii Rybalka claimed that, first of all, it is necessary to collect expert estimations of possible results of reforming the sphere. In his words, a part of bills is now being considered by the specialized committees.
S.Rybalka believes it is necessary to update systemic bills that regulate activity of the insurance market. Among strategically important issues he mentioned significant modernization of market regulation, introducing pension reform, development of medical insurance, reforms of social insurance funds, and insurance against environmental risks.
Participants of the meeting upheld the proposal to accelerate adoption of a new version of the basic law "On Insurance" which was adopted in 1996 and is outdated.
Following the results of the meeting, the Committee adopted a decision to form a separate working group on elaborating legislative proposals on insurance sector of the financial market.
