On Tuesday Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine O.Syroid met with Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad Four

On Tuesday Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine O.Syroid met with Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad Four member-states.   

At the beginning of the meeting, O.Syroid informed about the work of the newly elected Ukrainian Parliament which formed the coalition and working authorities of the Verkhovna Rada, as well as appointed the Prime Minister in short terms. 

"Forming the pro-European coalition allows to speak about determination of efforts of Ukrainian Parliament in the direction of the European integration", she claimed and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation with the Visegrad Four member-states.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada thanked the guests for their visit and assistance which Visegrad Four member-states provide Ukraine with. In her words, this year it is the second visit at the level of Ministers for Foreign Affairs.

In their turn, delegation chairpersons stressed that they support integrity and independence of Ukraine and expressed readiness to help our country. Particularly, the Visegrad Four special fund of assistance to Ukraine was created and, apart from everything else, it is ready to provide 410 scholarships to Ukrainian students for their studies in these European countries.

The guests stressed the need to seriously reform the whole country, particularly, create independent media, conduct the constitutional reform, reform of judicial system, and principles of self-government. They believe that all reforms shall be transparent and understandable for the society. 

In this context, O.Syroid informed about steps that are taken by the government on the way of reforms, particularly, on the corruption counteraction.
