Ruslan Stefanchuk met with Prime Minister of Lithuania Mindaugas Sinkevičius.
Firstly, the Chairman of the Verkhvona Rada of Ukraine thanked Lithuania for all of support provided to Ukraine –– military, political, and energy-related, as well as for its adopted decision to annually allocate 0,25% of Lithuania’s GDP to support our country.
“0.25% of GDP is not just a figure. It is a clear sign of friendship, solidarity, and the understanding that our security today is shared. Ukraine is also ready to share its gained experience, above all in the field of defence and security,” emphasized Ruslan Stefanchuk.
For his part, the Prime Minister assured that Lithuania will continue to support Ukraine on all key issues: “Lithuania sees Ukraine as a part of Europe and is interested in deepening our cooperation in the fields of defence and security.”
Separately, the parties discussed support for Ukraine’s energy sector and the need to hold russia accountable for its crimes and genocidal acts. They also exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation between our countries, in particular, at the interparliamentary level and within joint parliamentary assemblies formats.
"Ukraine and Lithuania are bound by more than just a partnership. It is a closeness between our peoples, a shared understanding of threats, and a common vision for a European future," emphasized the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
