During a meeting in Paris, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola.
The parties discussed continued support for Ukraine, specifically the critical need for additional air and missile defense systems, along with the corresponding ammunition.
Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Roberta Metsola for her personal leadership and steadfast support for Ukraine. He specifically highlighted the European Commission's decision to allocate €6.1 billion from the Ukraine loan facility toward the procurement of drones and missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
Special attention during the meeting was devoted to Ukraine’s European integration. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized that Ukraine has completed the necessary preparatory work to open all negotiation clusters.
"Our goal remains unchanged: full membership in the European Union," stressed Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The sides also agreed to further deepen cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the European Parliament.
"We value our partnership with the European Parliament—both for Ukraine's resilience today and for our journey toward EU membership," noted the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
