During a working visit to France, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Francis Scarpaleggia.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada informed his Canadian counterpart of recent russian attacks and the operation of the Ukrainian Parliament under conditions of prolonged air raid alerts.
The parties also discussed continuing negotiations and synchronizing partner efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, further increasing pressure on the aggressor, and expanding interparliamentary cooperation. Special attention was devoted to the repatriation of Ukrainian children illegally deported by russia.
"Canada’s position remains unchanged: it stands with Ukraine. We value this solidarity and look forward to continued joint work," emphasized Ruslan Stefanchuk.
