The Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev.
Represented by the Ambassador, the Vice Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament thanked Azerbaijan for continuing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and for hosting Ukrainian children from the war-affected regions in Baku for a holiday.
She also emphasised the role of Azerbaijan in demining Ukrainian land.
“We greatly appreciate Azerbaijan's contribution to the humanitarian demining of Ukraine. This is a huge challenge for us. Our Azerbaijani friends not only have considerable experience in demining the de-occupied territories, but also produce special equipment,” said Olena Kondratiuk.
She recalled that Azerbaijan had recently handed over a new Revival P tracked demining vehicle of its own production to Ukrainian rescuers. Trainings are also being held for Ukrainian specialists.
The meeting also focused on strengthening parliamentary diplomacy.
“We continue to work closely with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine to develop interparliamentary cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Milli Majlis, in particular, in organising mutual visits of the leadership and parliamentary groups and joint participation in international events,” summed up Olena Kondratiuk.
