First of all, during the meeting, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed his sincere gratitude for the personal strong and consistent position of the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights in support of Ukraine and its people in the fight against the aggressor country – the russian federation.
“Ukraine expects that thanks to the mandate of the Council of Europe Commissioner, the rights of Ukrainians affected by russian aggression will be protected,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.
He also noted that the return of illegally deported children to Ukraine is an extremely important issue for Ukraine.
“Unfortunately, the aggressor does not stop and continues to commit war crimes, continues to illegally take Ukrainian children to its territory, to the territory of belarus or to the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by russia,” said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
In conclusion, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that it is important to continue pressure for the speedy removal of Ukrainian citizens from the territory of the aggressor, as well as the return to Ukraine of our children illegally taken, placed under the “guardianship” and “adopted” by russian citizens.
