The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko took part in the Annual Conference of the Ukrainian Association "Professional Government".
The participants discussed the vision of the new civil service – the role of institutions, donors and civil society.
First of all, the First Vice-Speaker stressed that a successful future depends on the right analysis – honest and thorough in terms of what has already been done, in particular, after the Revolution of Dignity.
"This will allow us to understand the results and consequences of previous steps and how best to take the next ones over the next 5-10 years," he said.
At the same time, Oleksandr Korniienko noted that this will further allow to develop certain concepts and ideas that will lead to specific legislative changes. This, in particular, will be the key to responding to the challenges faced by the civil service.
"There are many challenges, including human resources, European integration, competence development, security and war," said Oleksandr Korniienko.
In addition, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine invited the community of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Government to join or create their own communication projects on European integration, even within the teams of officials: "After all, these are concrete actions to improve competences, in particular, to overcome myths around Ukraine's path to the EU."
For reference. The Ukrainian Association "Professional Government" was organised in March 2014 by Ukrainian graduates of world-class universities and unites more than 25 Ukrainian alumni organisations, which include more than three thousand Ukrainians with Western education.
